The UK Foreign Office updated its travel advice for Israel and the UAE, warning of the risk of escalation in the Middle East.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Department (FCDO) updated its travel advice for Israel and the UAE on October 27, stating that the situation in the Middle East remains highly unpredictable and the risk of sudden escalation is high. The guidance noted that since the start of the conflict in early 2026, Iran has indicated it will target locations associated with the US and Israel, and there have been attacks and retaliatory attacks by Iran and others against civilian and US military facilities in the region.
The FCDO advised British citizens in the Middle East or planning to transit through the Middle East to prepare for potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions, to monitor the latest information from local authorities, airports, and airspace, to stay away from secure or military installations, and to check their departure plans and travel documents.
