This week, my biggest concern regarding US stocks is: how much of the money spent on AI will actually be recouped?
Earnings reports, macroeconomic data, and Anthropic's push for an IPO—several key factors are converging.
1. Microsoft, Google, and Amazon: Cloud Business Earnings Reports
Watch MSFT and GOOGL early Thursday morning Beijing time, and AMZN early Friday morning.
2. The Fed, GDP, and PCE: Impact on Tech Stock Valuations
The Fed's interest rate decision will be announced early morning on October 29th Beijing time, followed by the preliminary Q3 GDP figure and September PCE at 8:30 PM that evening.
After the earnings reports, the market will still have to navigate the challenges of growth and inflation.
Personally, I believe the FOMC will be hawkish, causing a market decline. This presents a hedging opportunity before the FOMC meeting.
3. Anthropic's IPO: Pricing is My Focus
Anthropic has publicly filed its IPO documents today. This is actually one of the better practices MSX has done – MSX Pre-IPO. This is often the first step for many people to get acquainted with MSX, and it's also one of the few exchanges to fully realize a SPCX listing.
The subsequent offering valuation, fundraising scale, and capital absorption are important signals for me to observe in the AI sector. The higher the pre-IPO expectations, the more crucial it is to see if the actual performance can live up to them.
This week, I will continue to analyze the pre-earnings expectations and post-earnings reactions by combining options flows and key price levels.
