Meta Slightly Raises Equity Funding Plans to $97.5 Billion, Potentially Reaching $103 Billion
Meta Platforms (META.O) announced that it plans to raise funds through an equity offering to support investments in artificial intelligence, slightly increasing the fundraising target from $95 billion to $97.5 billion. Meta stated on Tuesday, when announcing its equity offering pricing arrangements, that it increased the size of its ordinary share offering from $22.5 billion to $25 billion. According to plans initially announced on Monday, Meta also intends to issue approximately $12.5 billion in Series A depositary shares and raise up to $60 billion through an at-the-market offering. The announcement also revealed that Meta has granted the underwriters of the ordinary share and depositary share offering an option to purchase an additional $5.5 billion worth of shares; this means that Meta's final fundraising could reach a maximum of approximately $103 billion.
