Wu learned that the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) released its first statistics on household crypto asset holdings on October 27. As of the end of June 2026, Dutch households held approximately €3.2 billion (approximately US$3.58 billion) in crypto assets through domestic crypto asset service providers, equivalent to about 1.4% of their stock, bond, and investment fund holdings. Of this, Bitcoin holdings were worth approximately €1.5 billion (approximately US$1.68 billion), Ethereum approximately €300 million (approximately US$340 million), and stablecoins accounted for less than 1%. Businesses and other sectors held an additional approximately €200 million in crypto assets, bringing the total holdings within the scope of the statistics to €3.4 billion (approximately US$3.8 billion). The Dutch Central Bank pointed out that the above data only covers crypto assets held through Dutch domestic service providers and does not include overseas platforms, personal self-custodied wallets, and indirect crypto investments; therefore, it does not represent the total crypto asset holdings of Dutch residents.
