As of October 27th, in the Asian time zone, the prices of both BTC and ETH fell by nearly 1% in the past 24 hours, but the value of open contracts actually increased. According to data from multiple exchanges, Bitcoin's open interest was approximately $22.6 billion, an increase of 1.97% in 24 hours, while ETH's was approximately $13.5 billion, an increase of 0.30%. In simpler terms, although prices fell during this period, the open interest in the contract market expanded. Regarding funding rates, the weighted average estimated funding rates for BTC and ETH are approximately 0.0085% and 0.0052% per 8 hours, respectively, both remaining positive. If the funding rate is still positive at settlement, investors holding long positions will need to pay funding fees to short sellers. However, ETH's funding rate has not continued to rise as it did earlier this afternoon, when the weighted average estimated funding rate was approximately 0.0070%, and has now fallen back. Contract open interest and funding rates can help observe market changes; generally speaking, the market sentiment is more bullish. A @Gate account for more market insights.
