[BlackRock Bond CIO: High-Quality AI Bonds More Attractive Than US Treasuries] According to Yonhap News Agency, Rick Reid, Chief Investment Officer of Global Bonds at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, stated on October 27th that the unprecedented scale of debt financing for the expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure makes related bonds more attractive than long-term US Treasury bonds. In an interview with Bloomberg TV on October 27th, Reid said that the scale of financing in the bond and stock markets is unprecedented, and the current period is the most attractive investment period he has ever experienced. He expressed focus on high-quality bonds issued to finance GPUs, data centers, and other AI infrastructure, noting that the large volume of new corporate bond issuance has resulted in better interest rate conditions than before. He pointed out that while the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds exceeds 5%, it has been marginalized by other market products, and Treasury bonds are more often seen as a "market benchmark" for measuring the stock market; investors can obtain approximately 7% interest by purchasing short-term, single-rated A bonds and avoid the duration risk of long-term Treasury bonds. He also expressed a preference for secured bonds issued by high-quality companies or assets that generate cash flow, and believes that semiconductor and computing stocks are reasonably valued. Currently, hyperscale data center operators are issuing the largest corporate bonds in history, raising hundreds of billions of dollars and absorbing funds that would otherwise flow into Treasury bonds, becoming one of the main reasons for pushing up US Treasury yields. Global high-quality AI-related financing has exceeded $300 billion this year, approximately three times the total for last year.
