[South Korea's Democratic Party Discusses Delaying Crypto Asset Tax, No Resolution Yet] South Korea's Democratic Party held a general meeting of lawmakers on October 27 to discuss whether to postpone the cryptocurrency tax, but no formal party resolution was reached. Spokesperson Jeon Eun-soo stated that the party will listen to opinions and make a decision as soon as possible. Lawmaker Ahn Do-jeol suggested that the tax should be implemented after the Digital Basic Assets Act is enacted. South Korea's cryptocurrency tax system has already been postponed three times. If it is not postponed again, starting in January 2027, it will be taxed at a 22% rate on the portion of annual income after deducting a 2.5 million won tax exemption. The South Korean presidential office is inclined to postpone the tax. (Source: Yonhap News Agency)
