[ING: Yield Spread Risk Remains Between French and German Bonds] Golden Finance reports that on October 27th, the market breathed a sigh of relief after Moody's did not downgrade France's sovereign credit rating last Friday, but "the overall situation remains unchanged." ING's senior interest rate strategists, Michiel Tukker and Benjamin Schroeder, stated in a report that they remain wary of widening yield spreads given the significant political risks ahead. The yield spread between French 10-year OAT and German Bund closed at 153 basis points on Monday, after reaching 177 basis points last week, the widest level since 2011. Moody's maintained France's credit rating but also maintained a "negative" outlook. Strategists pointed out that France still needs to make "significant and sustained fiscal efforts" to avoid a downgrade. (Golden Ten)
