[Morgan Stanley: Chip Stock Correction Nearing its End, Expected to Conclude by Mid-November] Odaily Planet Daily reports that despite increased pressure on US stocks recently due to cooling AI trading enthusiasm, Morgan Stanley's chief equity strategist, Mike Wilson, maintains his prediction that the S&P 500 will close at 8,000 points by the end of the year. Morgan Stanley's tactical downside target for the S&P 500 is 7,100 to 7,200 points, slightly below the 200-day moving average. However, the bank's base case target for the S&P 500 by year-end remains at 8,000 points, noting that several upcoming liquidation events, including the midterm elections, should mark the end of the current market correction. However, Wilson is relatively cautious about the semiconductor sector, believing that support levels for the sector may be well below current levels, but also noting that selling pressure on semiconductor stocks may ease next month.
