[Zcash Co-founder Proposes Terminating Automatic Allocation of Community Grants, Says ZCG Assets Reach Approximately $125 Million] According to CoinDesk, Zcash co-founder Sean Bowe has proposed a draft resolution to terminate the automatic allocation of 8% of newly issued ZEC to the Zcash Community Grants Program (ZCG), and instead reinvest that portion in future mining rewards reserves. The committee will retain existing assets and continue distributing grants. Bowe estimates that, based on a ZEC value of $1,300, ZCG assets, after deducting any unfulfilled commitments, amount to approximately $125 million. Bowe stated that ZCG funds are sufficient to cover expenses for several years, the program was never designed to handle such a large amount of capital, and continuing to hold funds within its independent custody and governance arrangements would increase risk.
