Several key points from Anthropic's prospectus are worth noting: 1. Revenue size and growth rate: Revenue reached over $300 million in 2024, $4.5 billion in 2025, and $16.2 billion in the first half of this year. Third-quarter revenue of $16.8 billion was previously announced during a closed-door investor roadshow. Therefore, the company has already achieved $33 billion in revenue in the first three quarters of 2026, with fourth-quarter revenue showing a further increase compared to the third quarter. This implies that Anthropic's total revenue for 2026 will be at least in the $50-60 billion range. A 12-fold increase in revenue in 2026 compared to 2025 is indeed impressive. At this rate, it's highly probable that revenue will exceed $100 billion in 2027 and surpass $200 billion in 2028, entering the $200-300 billion range. (When looking at a prospectus, it's not enough to just look at past data; you also need to consider future growth potential.)
The company achieved GAAP operating profit in the second quarter, and this $974 million operating profit already deducts the share-based compensation expenses recognized in the quarter and does not include interest income. Therefore, it provides more direct proof of the core business's economic viability than a return to positive adjusted net profit.
2. Revenue Sources
1) Of the $16.2 billion in accounts receivable in the first half of 2026, 80.2% was revenue calculated by token consumption, and 19.8% was subscription revenue. The large proportion of revenue calculated by token consumption means that revenue expansion will become increasingly closely related to workload, task complexity, and automation depth, reducing the limitations of personnel caps.
2) Customer Composition
Official disclosures show that over 11,900 companies contributed at least $100,000 in revenue in the past 12 months, over 1,900 companies contributed at least $1 million in revenue in the past 12 months, and approximately 250 companies contributed at least $10 million in revenue in the past 12 months.
Only over 950 customers reached the $100,000 threshold in 2025.
In the first nine months of 2026, no single customer contributed more than 10%, and the top five customers accounted for approximately 25% of revenue.
3) Net Revenue Retention Rate (NRR) was approximately 900%.
This NRR metric, simply put, means that customers who started contributing revenue in Q3 2025 were contributing about nine times the revenue in Q3 2026, indicating that customer stickiness and willingness to pay are actually increasing. This is strong evidence of the deepening use of AI in enterprises. Existing customers are increasing actual spending, and growth is not entirely dependent on continuously acquiring new customers.
4) Revenue Channels
In the first half of 2026, revenue generated from sales to customers through the cloud platform accounted for 48%.
3. Profitability and Cash
1) The company incurred a loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026, but convertible bonds, derivative liabilities, changes in the fair value of SAFE, and other net expenses totaled $81.108 billion, exceeding the net loss for the period. The underlying mechanism is that the company entered into convertible note and financing agreements early on. When a company's valuation increases significantly, the equity value of these instruments rises, and the corresponding fair value of liabilities increases, resulting in an expense on the income statement. These expenses typically do not represent an equivalent cash payment in the current period.
Therefore, after adjustment, the company is actually profitable.
2) Anthropic currently holds $131.651 billion in cash.
3) First-half regular free cash flow was positive: Operating cash flow was $3.929 billion, and cash outflows for fixed asset purchases were $482 million. Based on "operating cash flow minus cash outflows for fixed asset purchases," free cash flow was approximately $3.447 billion.
4. Future computing power expenditure commitments: Future payment obligations disclosed at the end of June totaled approximately $589.1 billion. A closer look at these computing power expenditure commitments reveals that the terms are mostly between 2031 and 2034, roughly $100 billion annually. Returning to point 1 above, regarding revenue size and growth rate, Anthropic's revenue in 2027 will definitely exceed $100 billion.
Overall, this S-1 report significantly enhances confidence in Anthropic's commercialization capabilities and demonstrates that its current paid services are already profitable. Personally, I think the most important point is the revenue size and growth rate; these are the key indicators.
