[Digital Threat Detection Company Overwatch Raises $15 Million in Series A Funding, Led by Mouro Capital] According to Fortune, on October 26th, New York-based digital threat detection startup Overwatch raised $15 million in Series A funding, led by Mouro Capital, with participation from Visa Ventures and Capital One Ventures, as well as PruVen Capital, New Era Capital Partners, and Y Combinator. Founded in 2022 by Arjun Bisen and Zara Perumal, with Bisen serving as CEO, a former Australian diplomat who helped develop the country's cybersecurity strategy in the 2010s, the company uses AI agents and other technologies to help businesses scale their defenses against digital threats. Its clients include Visa, Capital One, Cash App, SoFi, Stripe, and DoorDash. Bisen claims that AI has made cybercrime faster, cheaper, and more interconnected, citing Mastercard data that the cost of a single attack has fallen below $3. He cites as an example an attacker launched over 100 attacks in about five days, breaching 27 payment websites and stealing information from over 600,000 bank cards.
