[Keystone Updates Security Incident Handling Progress: 18,835 Devices Using Old Keys to be Destroyed, Customer Information Retention Period Shortened to 90 Days] Hardware wallet provider Keystone released an update on its security incident handling progress. The incident involved 25,964 buyer records containing personal information. The device verification keys obtained by attackers may have been used to create counterfeit devices that could be verified through the official website. In response, Keystone will stop using the old keys, destroy 18,835 devices in its inventory using the old keys, and suspend shipments of unshipped orders through the official website until devices using the new keys are put into production. The retention period for customer personal information has also been shortened from 180 days to 90 days. Keystone reminds users that devices received after October 20th using the old verification keys, even if verified through the official website, cannot be completely ruled out as counterfeit. Users should contact customer service for further verification.
