[Compound Proposal to Terminate Community Multisignature Cancellation Rights, Sparking Controversy Over Cancellation of Proposal 618] According to DeepFlow TechFlow on October 26th, the Compound governance forum shows that a proposal submitted by community member Humpy to "terminate the community multisignature cancellation rights" has entered the on-chain pending state. The proposal proposes to use the `setProposalGuardian` method of the Governor contract to set the cancellation rights of community multisignature (0xbbf3…012c, 5/9 signature threshold) to expire on November 1, 2026 at 00:00 UTC (timestamp 1793491200), while retaining its Pause Guardian rights for pausing the market.
According to the proposal description, on October 22nd, five signers in the community multisignature group (Cylon, Gauntlet, Arr00, PGov, Zeroshadow) cancelled proposal 618 before the voting began. The proposal intends to transfer $5 million of the EPCF fund to the community multisignature group. Humpy claims the proposal meets all on-chain requirements, contains no malicious code, and poses no security threat.
The proposal also points out a potential conflict of interest: the Compound Foundation paid advisory fees to two signatories, Arr00 and Cylon. Furthermore, Proposal 538, passed in February, extended the revocation permission for four years, originally set to expire on September 12, 2026. The proposal also cites forum discussions claiming the foundation exchanged 8.42 million v2 DAI reserves for 344,780 COMP and delegated them to its own voting address. All of the above are the proposal author's unilateral statements.
