[Anthropic Reports $80.7 Billion Net Loss in First Half of Year; Company Says Future Profitability May Be Uncertain]
BlockBeats reports that on October 26, Anthropic officially embarked on its IPO journey, with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley leading the process. This five-year-old company, at the heart of the generative AI wave, is poised for a record-breaking IPO.
Anthropic disclosed in its filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it plans to list on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "ANT". The company behind Claude's large model filed a confidential prospectus with the SEC as early as June, allowing regulators to review its financial materials before releasing them to the public and potential investors.
In the prospectus, the company disclosed that its first-half revenue was $16.3 billion, compared to $1.2 billion in the same period last year; its net loss was $80.7 billion; the company anticipates that it may not achieve or maintain profitability in the future; and it will not pay any dividends in the foreseeable future. Under the agreement with SpaceX AI, the company agreed to spend up to $120.5 billion over a period ending in 2029. In the nine months ending September 30, no single customer accounted for more than 10% of the company's revenue.
