The WLFI saga is increasingly resembling a soap opera.
One minute they're telling grand stories about the Trump family, stablecoins, and Binance investments, and the next, Circle shareholders have sued them in federal court.
The allegations are quite interesting: a $500 million acquisition of a 49% stake, a $2 billion Binance investment settled in USD1, and even references the Foreign Remuneration Clause.
Of course, let me clarify: this is a lawsuit, not a court ruling, and WLFI has denied these claims.
But the market is sometimes that realistic:
You can call yourself a financial innovator, or even the Web3 version of Wall Street, but when keywords like "foreign funds," "governance rights," "stablecoins," "token freezes," and "massive transactions" start appearing together, investors naturally wonder:
Are these guys really engaged in financial innovation, or are they just creating jobs for law students?
Even more interestingly, USD1 has recently seen large-scale redemptions.
Therefore, what WLFI needs most now might not be to tell another bigger story, but to clearly explain what has already happened.
After all, cryptocurrencies can depreciate, and stories can be rewritten,
but what can't be clearly explained—the market will truly fill in the blanks.
