SK Hynix Plans Additional 50-60 Trillion Won in Shareholder Returns, Potentially Reaching 100 Trillion Won for the Year According to BlockBeats, on October 26, SK Hynix announced plans to provide an additional 50-60 trillion won (approximately US$35-42 billion) in shareholder returns. Combined with the previously completed 40 trillion won share buybacks and cancellations, total shareholder returns this year are expected to reach 90-100 trillion won, a record high for the company. SK Hynix plans to finalize the plan through a board resolution on October 28, which will be announced along with its third-quarter results. The company is considering rewarding shareholders through special dividends and additional share buybacks. Brokerages predict that SK Hynix's free cash flow this year will be approximately 200 trillion won, and the company's previous policy was to use more than 50% of its free cash flow for share buybacks, cancellations, and dividends. SK Hynix's profitability continues to improve as demand for AI storage continues to grow. If its plans are implemented, its annual shareholder returns will be approximately seven times that of last year, potentially vying with Samsung Electronics for the top spot in annual shareholder returns among South Korean companies. Samsung Electronics previously stated its plan to implement shareholder returns of 90 trillion to 110 trillion won this year.
