[QCP: BTC Falls Below $80,000, Tech Earnings and Fed Decision This Week May Determine the Future] According to a report by QCP Capital on October 26th, BTC fell below $80,000 over the weekend and is currently at the lower end of its recent trading range. Escalating tensions in the Middle East and ETF outflows late last week triggered liquidation of leveraged long positions. QCP believes the main variables this week are the FOMC meeting on October 27-28 and the earnings reports from tech giants: Microsoft and Alphabet will release their earnings on October 28th, and Amazon on October 29th. Last week, Meta fell 7% due to an upward revision of its capital expenditure guidance, and Nasdaq also experienced its worst single-day performance since June. CME FedWatch shows a 9% probability of a 25 basis point rate hike in October and an approximately 84% probability of a rate hike in December. This meeting will not include a dot plot; the market will focus on Fed Chairman Warsh's press conference. The yield on the 10-year US Treasury note is approximately 4.96%. Technically, BTC has support at $78,000 and resistance at $86,000, with further upside potential at $88,000 to $90,000. Glassnode data shows that ETF holders and Treasury companies have a cost basis between $80,000 and $81,500. ETH has support at $2,150 and resistance at $2,500. ETH/BTC has fallen to approximately 0.029, and the ETH ETF has seen net outflows for the fourth consecutive week, amounting to $220.7 million. The QCP's baseline expectation is that the Federal Reserve will hold rates steady, and BTC is expected to fluctuate between $78,000 and $86,000.
