[ByteDance Turns AI Short Dramas into an Assembly Line: 100,000-Word Novels Adapted into Scripts, Finished Short Dramas Can Be Reshot for Overseas Release] Beating AI News Flash: ByteDance launched "Jimeng Short Drama Studio" today, integrating screenwriting, character design, storyboarding, video generation, and post-production onto a single platform.
The script model DreamScript supports parsing 100,000-word novels, generating up to 100 episodes of scripts consecutively, and can also check plot conflicts and character settings. The storyboard model DreamShot provides a 3D director's console, allowing for pre-adjustment of camera positions and movements, and previewing shooting effects. Characters, costumes, and scenes from the script are automatically organized into a resource library for reuse in subsequent shots. If a shot is not satisfactory after generation, it can be reshot individually.
"Re-firing" is the most suitable feature for short dramas going overseas. Upload a pre-recorded short drama, and AI will break it down into characters, scenes, props, and shots, then regenerate the visuals according to the target region, art style, and aspect ratio, preserving as much of the original plot pacing and cinematic language as possible—essentially remaking an overseas version from the original footage.
Many of these features come from ByteDance's Xiaoyunque. In March of this year, Xiaoyunque launched the short drama Agent, and in August, it already offered remastered and converted animations. On October 24th, 36Kr revealed that Xiaoyunque had been merged into JiMeng, but still retains an independent entry point.
