WLFI's actions have backfired. @worldlibertyfi Circle shareholders have filed a lawsuit in Washington federal court, accusing Trump and WLFI of violating the Foreign Remuneration Clause through transactions related to the UAE: selling a 49% stake for $500 million and settling a $2 billion Binance investment in USD1. The lawsuit directly alleges "profiting from public office."
Meanwhile, approximately $400 million in USD1 was redeemed in two weeks, causing the market capitalization to shrink by over 9%, and WLFI's price continued to decline under pressure.
Looking back, the project team previously directly accused early investor Sun of "defamation/misconduct/short selling" and filed a countersuit. Now, external shareholders are making constitutional accusations, and internal redemptions are occurring again.
Token freezes, governance rights, foreign funds, and stablecoin trust—these issues keep resurfacing. WLFI definitely needs more transparency and explanation.
