[Polymarket Chief Marketing Officer Modabber Fired Over Allegations of Fake Deals and Personal Account Payments] According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 26, citing sources familiar with the matter, Polymarket has fired its Chief Marketing Officer, Matthew Modabber. This personnel change stems from an internal investigation launched earlier by the company, involving allegations that its marketing team produced fake deal promotional videos and paid influencers promotional fees through personal PayPal accounts. Modabber had served as Polymarket's Chief Marketing Officer since January 2024. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was the platform's 11th early employee, leading a marketing, partnerships, and growth team of over 50 people, and claimed to have increased the platform's daily transaction volume from $300,000 to hundreds of millions of dollars through "growth hacking" techniques. A Polymarket spokesperson declined to comment, and Modabber and founder and CEO Shayne Coplan did not respond to requests for comment. Sources indicate that the two parties are currently finalizing severance agreements.
