Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter stated that the ChainSecurity report reveals that EIP-8037 affects contract interactions. Contracts that hardcode the forwarding of Gas are affected by Gas repricing, and some invariants on which the coding pattern depends are broken, causing the gasleft() value to rise, leading to counter underflow or subcall anomalies. Furthermore, the measurement of the GAS opcode may underestimate usage.
