[Film Hurricane's Tim Pan Gives Away 100 iPhones on X Platform; Web3 SEO Studios May Be the Biggest Winner]
BlockBeats reports that on October 26th, the well-known Chinese self-media account "Film Hurricane" launched its first promotional campaign on the X platform, giving away 100 iPhones for following, retweeting, and liking related posts. As of press time, the promotional video has garnered 4.87 million views, with over 100,000 likes and retweets. Tim Pan's account has also rapidly gained 302,000 followers. Judging from the exposure, interaction, and follower growth data, this overseas debut has had a very direct and effective promotional impact.
However, while the traffic has been generated, the winner list has sparked another layer of discussion.
According to BlockBeats statistics, of the 100 winning accounts selected through a grok lottery, nearly 70% have fewer than 100 followers, and many account handles consist of random character combinations (generally flagged as bulk registration characteristics). In addition, at least 20 accounts posted tweets related to crypto-based freebies, Web3 airdrops, and NFTs.
BlockBeats believes this result is not surprising. From the NFT craze to later project airdrops, and then to the era of "talking about freebies," X accounts have always been the most basic interactive tool for Web3 freebie-collecting studios. Once these studios scale up the number of X accounts, what was originally a giveaway for ordinary users becomes a low-cost, high-odds probability game.
It's worth noting that FilmHurricane previously verified the dissemination power of similar activities on domestic platforms. Their related giveaway event on Bilibili in September of this year garnered over 2.2 million reposts and likes. This indicates that the traffic itself is not the problem, but the X ecosystem is clearly more complex.
