[Stock Tokenization Faces Trust Crisis; Nonprofit Publishes Full-Page Ad in WSJ Urging CEOs to Pay Attention to Related Risks]
BlockBeats reports that on October 26th, the Wall Street Journal published a full-page paid advertisement for the past two days, titled "YOUR STOCK. THEIR TOKENS. YOUR PROBLEM.", warning the public about the risks of stock tokenization.
The advertisement, funded by the conservative nonprofit Common Sense Leadership Fund, aims to warn the crypto industry about tokenizing company shares in an "unregulated venue," listing eight major risks including pricing distortions, ambiguous ownership, impaired capital raising, cyber theft, market manipulation, AML vulnerabilities, lack of investor protection, and potential legal liabilities.
Previously, it was reported that a total of 22 companies, including giants such as Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, McDonald's, and Alphabet, objected to the project. The document outlined the rules for OKX's collaboration with ICE and listed the companies that objected, but did not specify the reasons for their opposition.
