Holy crap, CZ confirmed that BNB Chain is going to create another public chain, but without issuing a new coin!!!
After reading the official documentation, it seems Binance is playing a long game again!
This new chain's ambitions are much bigger than expected, directly targeting high-frequency trading, on-chain order books, Perp DEX, real-time payments, AI Agent automated trading, and even native privacy finance.
BNB Chain wants to further move high-performance financial services, originally belonging to centralized exchanges, onto the blockchain.
Many people might ask, BSC is already so fast, why create a new chain?
Because some issues with BSC's existing architecture are difficult to solve through upgrades.
For example, high-frequency trading requires extremely low latency, on-chain order books need near-CEX response speeds, clearing and oracles can't be clogged up by a sudden surge in meme trading, and AI Agents may initiate massive amounts of automated trading simultaneously in the future.
These scenarios require not only higher TPS, but also stable and predictable transaction execution.
Therefore, the new chain is redesigned from the ground up:
Targeting 200ms block generation and 20ms pre-confirmation;
Separating transaction ordering and execution to reduce waiting time;
Eliminating the global public Mempool to reduce front-running opportunities;
Dedicated VIP channels for clearing, cross-chain, and high-frequency trading, reserving block capacity;
Native account abstraction to facilitate automated transaction execution by AI agents;
Native privacy transactions to hide the transacting parties and amounts;
While these capabilities are not entirely impossible for BSC to implement through applications, achieving protocol-level support without disrupting the existing ecosystem makes a complete chain rebuild more reasonable.
The old chain continues to support DeFi, Memes, and existing applications, while the new chain competes for the market share opening up by high-performance transaction infrastructures like Hyperliquid.
The two chains are connected via a cross-chain bridge and both use BNB for gas payments, staking, and governance.
Currently in the internal Devnet stage, with plans to launch a testnet by the end of 2026 and a mainnet in early 2027. Performance targets remain to be verified.
