AI agents just stepped in to help Ethereum core devs work through a tricky issue in the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade. Auditors flagged that proposed gas changes in EIP-8037 broke longstanding execution assumptions, causing certain edge cases to behave unpredictably across at least 13 live DeFi contracts. With the upgrade on deck, manually checking every single live contract on Ethereum to map out the blast radius wasn't realistic. So researchers at the EF and Ethlabs spun up AI agents on a shared GitHub repo to claim audit tasks, run tests, and catalog potentially affected contracts around the clock. The testnet rollout is paused while devs sort it out, but seeing coordinated AI agent swarms scanning the EVM to map protocol-level risks is pretty incredible to watch. https://x.com/decentrek/status/2114405149729079607
