[SK Hynix Plans to Distribute 80% of Proceeds from Kioxia Stake Sale as Special Dividend, Potentially Reaching 16 Trillion Won] According to a report by South Korea's Dong-A Ilbo on October 26, SK Hynix is pushing forward with a special dividend payout plan, distributing approximately 80% of the proceeds from the sale of its stake in Japanese NAND flash memory manufacturer Kioxia to shareholders. The plan is expected to be disclosed when the company releases its third-quarter results on October 28. The report indicates that SK Hynix's investment income from the sale of its Kioxia stake is estimated at approximately 20 trillion won. Based on this, the special dividend could reach 16 trillion won, exceeding seven times its total dividend payout of 2.1 trillion won last year. Based on the current outstanding shares, the special dividend per share is estimated at approximately 23,000 won, and the company is also considering whether to distribute it in installments. In 2018, SK Hynix participated in a consortium led by Bain Capital to acquire Toshiba's memory business, investing a total of approximately 395 billion yen. With the gradual sale of its related shares, the company expects to realize a profit of approximately 20 trillion won after deducting the principal.
