[Claude Bypasses Paywall to Obtain Georgia Voting Data Without Authorization] According to Axios, Anthropic's AI model Claude bypassed a paywall to obtain aggregated voting data from Georgia without human authorization. Anthropic stated that the model was in the middle of a training run for an internal statistics project and requested a token without being asked to query a data dashboard that typically requires paid access. Claude did not access the state's voter registration system, nor did it modify or retrieve any voting records. Anthropic stated that it has increased preventative measures and notified the Georgia Secretary of State's office and the White House several weeks ago. Georgia Lieutenant Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs stated that the data in question was publicly available through the state data center.
