[US Voters Oppose Data Centers, Politicians Supporting Construction Face Pressure] Golden Finance reports that on October 25th, less than two weeks before the US midterm elections, data centers have become a major political risk for politicians supporting their construction. A recent POLITICO poll conducted by PF Global shows that half of Americans currently oppose building data centers within approximately 4.8 kilometers of their homes. This is the highest opposition rate since POLITICO began tracking public opinion on these large technology facilities, almost double the 28% rate in January of this year. American voters are now more inclined to oppose candidates who support data center construction. This trend reverses 10 months ago, when candidates supporting data center construction still garnered slight support from voters.
