[Stellar Updates Bell (Protocol 30) Upgrade Guide; Mainnet Voting Scheduled for November 23] According to Jinse Finance, Stellar updated its Bell upgrade guide on October 23, listing the required software versions for wallets, exchanges, and infrastructure operators before the November network vote, in preparation for Protocol 30 (which involves changes to address and ledger data). Applications need to support new contract addresses starting with W: JavaScript SDK v17.3.0 (released on October 21) provides encoding/decoding and verification tools; Bell contract addresses can carry customer identifiers, and a single contract can receive payments from multiple customers and record ownership. Indexers and browsers must adapt to the Protocol 30 ledger header format change; old decoders will become invalid. Bell adds ML-DSA post-quantum signature verification (ordinary transactions still use Ed25519) and introduces millisecond-level ledger timestamps (without shortening the current block interval). Testnet validators will vote at 17:00 UTC on November 3rd, and mainnet validators will vote at 17:00 UTC on November 23rd. The vote will take effect upon approval, and the dates may be subject to change.
