[US Department of Justice Demands California Officials Verify Voter Identities; Non-Cooperators May Face Investigation] Golden Finance reports that on October 25th (local time October 24th), CCTV reporters learned that the US Department of Justice has sent letters to election officials in all 58 counties of California, requesting them to assist in verifying the US citizenship of individuals on the federal government's list within 48 hours. The Department of Justice also warned that mail-in ballots from those whose identities have not yet been confirmed may face rigorous scrutiny from the federal government. The Department of Justice believes that some individuals on the list may not be legally eligible to vote. These individuals are part of approximately 20,000 suspected non-US citizens identified by the Department of Justice in California last week, and they may have already received their ballots. Furthermore, the White House is pushing federal agencies to expedite the review of voter registration lists obtained by the Department of Homeland Security from at least 47 states. (CCTV News)
