[Ripple Honorary CTO Says XRPL Success Without High XRP Demand is "Highly Improbable"] According to Jinse Finance, on October 24th, David Schwartz (Twitter @JoelKatz), Chief Technology Officer of Ripple Honorary, stated that a world where "XRPL is highly successful in financial applications, but XRP lacks high demand and value" is "highly improbable." His core logic is that XRPL's low fees and reliable performance attract financial activity, and as more assets and transactions flow through the network, XRP demand will increase. He gives two reasons: first, network transaction fees must be paid in XRP; second, XRP, as a neutral asset without counterparties, provides liquidity and accessibility between different parties. Regarding fee burning, Schwartz reiterated his previous assessment—burning primarily prevents spam transactions and has limited direct impact on price; XRP's value stems from increased network usage rather than burning itself. Validator Vet added that XRPL's built-in decentralized exchange allows users to trade without relying on external platforms, further strengthening XRP's role with the circulation of assets such as Ripple USD (RLUSD). Even if Bitcoin dominates settlement, XRP can still benefit from acting as a bridging currency through auto-bridging.
