[Stripe and Plasma Plan to Launch Stablecoin Payment Card in Over 100 Countries by 2027] According to Jinse Finance, payment giant Stripe and its partner Plasma announced plans to launch a stablecoin payment card, allowing users to make direct purchases in five fiat currencies (USD, Brazilian Real, Euro, Mexican Peso, and Colombian Peso) and stablecoins (USDC, OUSD, and other options compliant with the GENIUS Act). The goal is to cover over 100 countries by 2027. The card expands upon Stripe's existing multi-currency stablecoin card infrastructure: using stablecoins as the underlying funds for each payment avoids currency exchange fees and eliminates the waiting time for traditional cross-border transfers and clearing. The service is currently operating in over 30 countries, with a target of expanding to over 100 countries by 2027; by 2026, the Stripe stablecoin card infrastructure is estimated to have monthly transaction volume of approximately $1.2 billion. Plasma operates "Plasma One," a blockchain and new banking app designed specifically for stablecoin trading, and its multi-currency accounts will be migrated to the Stripe card infrastructure. Of the five currencies, three (Real, Mexican Peso, and Colombian Peso) originated in Latin America.
