[Ethereum Co-founder Lubin: AI and Crypto Will Merge on Ethereum] According to Jinse Finance, Ethereum co-founder and ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin stated in a CNBC interview that while AI can provide creativity and expertise, it cannot prove its trustworthiness, and blockchain fills this gap. He believes that AI and cryptography will eventually merge into a single system, enabling the delegation, delivery, and payment of automated work to be completed on-chain—the public chain records "who delegated what, whether the task was delivered, and whether the payment was settled," without the need for intermediaries; theoretically, AI agents can hire each other, verify output, and settle accounts on-chain. Lubin previously predicted that AI agents will significantly boost autonomous on-chain activity and stated that Ethereum will evolve into a "centralized settlement layer," transforming from a place for human clicks to a backend for software self-reconciliation. His recently supported EthSystems project aims to provide institutions with Ethereum privacy technology. Regarding regulation, Lubin stated that the SEC and CFTC are expected to provide clear guidance first, despite the slow progress of crypto legislation, suggesting that the industry may obtain rules from regulators rather than Congress sooner.
