Arthur Hayes dumped 8,000 ETH in one go, and less than four hours after the news broke, BTC fell below its 50-day moving average, which it had held for 66 days.
What did he foresee?
First, look at what he sold: approximately 8,000 ETH (about $19 million), plus ENA, UNI, ETHFI, AERO, and PENDLE, totaling about $26 million, and he also publicly expressed a bearish view.
Next, look at the market: BTC fell below its 50-day moving average for the first time since August; US spot ETFs saw a net outflow of approximately $770 million on Thursday and Friday, with Thursday's outflow being the largest single-day outflow since June. It's now only about $700 away from $80,000.
But don't rush to follow suit: the price is still about 10% away from the 200-day moving average, and the overall trend hasn't broken down yet.
