[“White-haired stock market guru” Serenity criticizes SIVE management: Lack of clear commitment to IPO timeline exacerbates market concerns] Odaily Planet Daily reports that “white-haired stock market guru” Serenity criticized the management of optical communication laser manufacturer Sivers (SIVE) for failing to highlight the potential commercial value of its laser production capacity in recent earnings communications and for lacking a clear commitment to its Nasdaq IPO timeline, potentially exacerbating market concerns about its short-term execution capabilities.
However, Serenity believes that Sivers plans to add 100 million CW DFB lasers annually in the fourth quarter of 2027, coinciding with tight industry supply. Meanwhile, Lumentum (LITE) capacity is sold out until 2029, and Coherent (COHR) and Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) are also shifting some laser capacity to their own product projects, which may create opportunities for Sivers to secure customers and capacity agreements. In addition, Sivers' commercialization opportunities with companies such as Jabil (JBL) and GlobalFoundries (GFS), as well as its previously planned co-packaged optics (CPO) project, may see key progress starting in 2027.
