[RedotPay Acquires Japanese Cryptocurrency Exchange BTCBOX] According to NADA NEWS, cryptocurrency payment service provider RedotPay recently announced in an updated official statement that it has acquired the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange BTCBOX. RedotPay will subsequently provide services compliant with Japanese regulations through BTCBOX. RedotPay does not possess a cryptocurrency trading license in Japan. The announcement acknowledges that its existing services for Japanese residents do not comply with local regulations and will be gradually restricted and eventually terminated. RedotPay has suspended new user registration in Japan and removed its app from the Japanese Apple and Google app stores. BTCBOX was founded in 2014 and obtained its trading license in September 2017. Following a customer data breach in January of this year, BTCBOX suspended all services and began a phased resumption on August 3rd. RedotPay stated that it will provide financial and technical support to BTCBOX.
