Phantom is targeting US users to access the Kalshi prediction market, and some states will restrict specific transaction categories
According to TechFlow, on October 23rd, the cryptocurrency wallet Phantom is opening up the Kalshi prediction market to American users, who can directly trade event contracts within the Phantom app. The feature will be launched from October 23rd and will gradually expand coverage in the coming weeks. Users need to complete Kalshi's KYC first. The transaction will be conducted through CASH stablecoins in the Phantom Cash account. After the funds are transferred to Kalshi, they will be converted into fiat currency for settlement. Withdrawals and profits will be returned to Phantom Cash. The current displayed fee for Phantom is $0.02 per contract, with a small amount of fund transfer network fees required. Affected by local regulatory disputes, Phantom will restrict market categories in some states: Michigan temporarily blocks the sports market; Nevada restricts sports, elections, politics, and entertainment markets; Washington state has a wider range of restrictions, including categories such as culture, technology, and geopolitics. Phantom's General Counsel Kevin Jacobs stated that the company believes the CFTC has clear jurisdiction over the relevant products and will continue to comply with existing state restrictions.
