According to Digital Asset, the South Korean government and the Bank of Korea plan to develop a revised draft of the Foreign Exchange Trading Act within this year, which will include stablecoins as a means of payment and other regulatory measures. In its report submitted to the National Assembly on October 22, the Bank of Korea stated that it is in negotiations with the government on a regulatory plan for cross-border cryptocurrency trading and is preparing to establish a cryptocurrency monitoring mechanism through the foreign exchange information system. The central bank pointed out that anonymous technologies such as coin mixers and regulatory gaps in personal wallets have increased the risk of illegal cross-border transactions. It will cooperate with relevant departments to prevent the market from using regulatory gaps during the transition period of digital asset legislation to evade supervision.
