🐋 WHALE WATCH : Morgan Stanley JPMorgan Bank of America, and Citi are restricting third party AI access after detecting unauthorized agents operating inside customer accounts.
The problem has three edges. AI agents are making purchases and moving funds without clear user authorization. Banks cant reliably distinguish human activity from autonomous agent activity. Some agents have called bank customer service lines on customers behalf without their knowledge.
Banks are pushing toward read-only access as a stopgap letting AI view account data without touching transactions.
The systems arent keeping pace with the agents. That gap is the risk.
