According to EDaily, Lee Eog weon, Chairman of the Financial Commission of South Korea, stated on October 22 during a comprehensive audit of the National Assembly Political Affairs Committee that he agrees with the proposal to use digital asset exchange technology and infrastructure to conduct tokenized securities trading. He will conduct research based on market conditions, investor protection, license category integration, and parallel operation arrangements. The amendments to the Electronic Securities Act and the Capital Market Act, which promote the institutionalization of tokenized securities in South Korea, will come into effect on February 4, 2027. The South Korean industry has also proposed the establishment of a comprehensive exchange that can simultaneously trade encrypted assets, tokenized securities, RWAs, and stablecoins, while retaining investor protection and information disclosure requirements corresponding to various assets. https://www.
