SB Energy may delay IPO until after December, raising doubts about OpenAI data center project valuation On October 23rd, according to a report by Yonhap News Agency, SB Energy, a data center developer under SoftBank Group, is considering postponing its US IPO to December or next year, instead of the originally scheduled September of this year. SB Energy is the driving force behind OpenAI's Ohio data center project. According to reports, recent market volatility and rising interest rates have cooled investor sentiment towards AI dedicated data center (Neocloud) companies. SB Energy plans to go public at a valuation of approximately $60 billion, with plans to raise $5 billion to $7 billion. However, the company currently does not have any data centers in operation, and the valuation is based solely on expected future returns, which has received a lukewarm response from investors. According to informed sources, the management of SB Energy is closely monitoring the Anthropic IPO, which is expected to take place before the November Thanksgiving holiday. If Anthropic's stock price performs well after going public, SB Energy may push forward with its listing in December.
