But personally, since I use multiple platforms, I think evaluating whether a platform is professional or not isn’t just about how it performs when everything’s smooth sailing—it’s more about how it handles unexpected situations and whether it can respond quickly to protect its users. On October 21, from 03:46 to 06:30 UTC, one of the largest overnight trading systems for U.S. stocks, Blue Ocean, suddenly went down (honestly, if Binance hadn’t announced it, most people probably wouldn’t have even noticed). First, let’s look at the impact of this incident. When an external market data source goes down, data providers can’t access real-time U.S. stock prices. This causes anomalies in the premium index of U.S. stock-related assets on exchanges, especially for high-leverage ETFs like SOXL. If left unchecked, the subsequent funding rate settlements could unfairly impact users—how frustrating would that be?! It’s clearly someone else’s system that failed, but users end up paying the price. I checked, and Binance’s response this time was super quick. As soon as they detected the anomaly, they immediately excluded the abnormal premium data during the outage from the funding rate settlement. This ensured that users weren’t unfairly charged due to issues with external data sources. Honestly, this level of attention to detail deserves major kudos! At any time, market data sources might fail, but risk control and fairness should never be compromised. Binance did a great job on this! All in all, on-chain tokenization of TradFi assets is the future trend. But in the end, the platforms that will thrive are the ones that prioritize detailed risk control, user asset security, and fair trading above all else.
