[eBay Responds to Rumors of 80% Layoffs in China: Speculation, and Has Not Exited the Chinese Market]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on October 22, market rumors suggested that eBay China initiated a new round of personnel adjustments this week, involving major offices such as those in Shanghai, with layoffs in the China region reportedly reaching 80%. In response, an eBay spokesperson stated that the company conducted a global workforce adjustment yesterday, with China being part of it; the claim of 80% is speculation. The CEO mentioned that this adjustment affected 9% of employees globally. The spokesperson also noted that while there is a lot of related information circulating online, it can be confirmed that eBay has not closed its China R&D center nor exited the Chinese market. Activities targeting sellers are still progressing steadily, and the annual auto parts seller event will be held in December. (Jin10)
