[Surge in Attacks Following PHP Critical Vulnerability Disclosure, Cloudflare Detects Millions of Attempts]
BlockBeats News, October 22: Cloud service company Cloudflare (NET.N) CEO Matthew Prince stated in a post that after a critical vulnerability in the widely used programming language PHP was disclosed, the company detected millions of attempts to exploit the vulnerability. Prince noted: 'In the 10 hours prior to the public disclosure of the vulnerability, we detected thousands of exploitation attempts across our network. Within 45 minutes of the vulnerability being disclosed, this number surged to tens of thousands; within two hours, it reached hundreds of thousands, and it has now climbed to millions.' Following the disclosure of the PHP vulnerability on Wednesday, website operators around the world scrambled to take emergency measures to protect their systems, causing some government websites in Europe and other regions to go offline.
