[Eight Departments Including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Accelerate the Full-Scale Application of Artificial Intelligence in Product Development, Design Simulation, Pilot Testing, and Production Operations] The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, along with seven other departments, has issued the '14th Five-Year Plan for Enhancing Industrial Foundation Capabilities.' The plan proposes promoting the integration of artificial intelligence to empower innovation in industrial foundations. It emphasizes strengthening the research and development layout of general-purpose models and industry-specific models in the industrial foundation field, advancing the integration of industrial mechanisms with intelligent decision-making models, developing intelligent-native foundational products, and fostering new business models such as Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Intelligent-Agent-as-a-Service (IaaS). The plan calls for accelerating the full-scale application of artificial intelligence in product development, design simulation, pilot testing, and production operations, enhancing the intelligence level of process management, analysis and forecasting, and decision execution, and expediting iterative innovation in industrial foundations.
