[Unauthorized Access to Environment Variables on Cloud Deployment Platform Railway, Users Advised to Rotate Keys] According to an official announcement from Railway, the cloud deployment platform Railway has detected abnormal activity in the system storing customer environment variables. Preliminary investigations indicate that an unauthorized third party may have accessed encrypted environment variables and obtained decrypted content from some of them. These variables may include API keys, database credentials, and image repository credentials. Railway believes this incident is part of a recent series of attacks targeting platform companies, aiming to breach AI inference service providers. Upstream service providers have been notified to proactively revoke keys. Currently, Railway has suspended all deployments and advises all users to immediately rotate environment variables, API keys, and private repository credentials stored on the platform, as well as review related service logs.
