Many people feel that they don't have time to do trading after starting work.
But there is an interesting phenomenon
I have been doing full-time trading for so many years, but in the past two years, I have spent less and less time monitoring the market
It's not that I don't value trading anymore, but I gradually realize that many seemingly busy behaviors in trading actually don't contribute much to the final outcome.
Who would have better results if a person spends eight hours a day monitoring the market or only half an hour a day processing transactions?
The answer may not necessarily be the former
Many people are actually pretending to trade hard, but have been doing some ineffective actions
For example, meaningless market monitoring, when there is not much fluctuation in the market situation and the key price is far away, constantly monitoring the K-line up and down during this time cannot capture opportunities
It is meaningless to set a take profit and stop loss after opening a position and keep monitoring profit and loss changes. Since the plan has been set, monitoring the fluctuation of numbers cannot change the price trend
Even some people can't sleep at all after opening a position, but they hardly make decisions during the holding process, just letting the price affect their emotions, which is meaningless
In the past two years, I have been spending less and less time on trading. The core is that I have streamlined the trading process and reduced ineffective actions
I spend a little time every day scanning the disk, identifying recent noteworthy targets, setting alerts at key prices, and developing expected plans
The next step is to wait for the alarm to trigger, and then take the actions of buying, selling, and setting take profit and stop loss after the alarm is triggered
Actually, the time spent executing the trading action is only 2-3 minutes
Trading in this way has a minimal impact on work. If work is really busy and you can't come up with it for a few minutes, the exchange now has a planned commission function. When the price reaches the expected level, it automatically executes a buy and sets a take profit stop loss. You don't even need to do anything
Of course, this does not mean that trading is something that does not require time.
On the contrary
What really requires a lot of time is to establish trading thinking, refine systems, validate strategies, and address psychological issues during the trading process
These things may take several years, or even longer
But once you have a mature trading system, there's no need to spend eight hours a day monitoring the market to prove that you're working hard
The improvement of trading ability sometimes doesn't make you do more, but rather let you know which things don't need to be done anymore
Why do some people say that trading takes up a lot of time
1. Short term trading is too difficult, and you may not be able to kill one out of 10000 people, unless you want to prove that you are a trading genius. Ordinary people don't need to spend too much time on it
2. Doing too many ineffective actions, such as ineffective disk watching, ineffective staying up late, and so on, as mentioned earlier
3. Pretending to trade hard, making trading seem busy. There are 7-8 charts on the screen, but I don't know what I'm looking at, which doesn't greatly improve the real decision-making process
Take a seat and see how much time it took to make a positive decision if invalid actions were removed. Will this time affect your work?
