[Samsung Electro-Mechanics MLCC Delivery Lead Time Extended to 52 Weeks, AI Server Demand Intensifies Supply Tightness] According to Deep Tide TechFlow on October 21, citing data from Korea Meritz Securities via Wall Street Insights, the delivery lead time for Samsung Electro-Mechanics' (Samsung Electro-Mechanics) low-capacity, high-capacity, and automotive MLCC products has been extended from over 30 weeks in September to 52 weeks in October, meaning some customers may need to wait approximately one year after placing orders. Taiwan-based manufacturer YAGEO's main MLCC product delivery lead times also remain between 30 to 52 weeks. This round of lead time extensions has expanded from high-capacity, high-performance products to low-capacity and automotive products. Manufacturers such as NIC Components, Viking, and Samwha Capacitor (Samwha) have also experienced varying degrees of lead time extensions, with multiple companies continuing to maintain price increase trends. AI servers are a key driver of this round of demand growth, as their MLCC usage can reach more than 10 times that of regular servers. The capacity utilization rate of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' Component Division reached 91% in the first half of this year, and the expansion project in the Philippines is not expected to achieve mass production until after 2027, meaning short-term supply pressure remains difficult to alleviate.
