🚨LATEST: Elon Musk says certainty around a Tesla-SpaceX merger is being “OVERSTATED,” describing the discussion as “tap dancing through a minefield.”
Both companies have formed special committees of independent directors to explore the idea.
Musk says his conflicts of interest keep him out of those discussions, calling the process “an odd kabuki dance.”
“Do I think it would be a good idea? yes," he adds.
He sees potential benefits across AI, chip design, robotics and space infrastructure but says no terms have been agreed, and there is no guarantee they will be.
Any proposal would require support from 50% of ALL shares, not just those voting: “That’s quite a high hurdle.”
